Mike Wallace is one of the 21st Century Fund's earliest and most generous donors. He is not only a Founder but also one of the handful of individuals who shared the inspiration to create this kind of a fund for Brookline High School. His selection as the second Distinguished Alumnus recipient was greeted with tremendous enthusiasm.

Through a journalism career that spans six decades, Mr. Wallace has become a household name all across the country. His great stature made the 2002 21st CF gala an early sell-out.

The most poignant moment of the evening was Mr. Wallace's re-union with Harry Ellis Dickson. The late Mr. Dickson had been Music Director of the Boston Classical Orchestra and served as Associate Conductor Laureate of the Boston Pops, but Mike Wallace knew him first as his high school violin instructor.
